Description
In the Latin 2 course, students will delve deeper into the study of this influential classical language, building upon the skills learned in Latin 1. Through their study, students will develop an understanding of more challenging verbs (their voices, moods, tenses etc.) and how to apply them in situational speech nuance, recognizing how to denote gender in and with more advanced grammar, nouns, adjectives and cases. Students will immediately see the practical benefits of mastering Latin, applying its use in the world today threefold: enhancing English vocabulary and speech skills; utilizing its roots as a base in learning Romance languages; in assisting in the completion of the SAT Verbal section.

The Latin 2 e-Book offers students the opportunity to explore websites with historical information, vocabulary and conjugation enrichment that compliments that day’s lesson material. At the end of each daily lesson, students will test their comprehension by completing an activity–including but not limited to a journal entry, a discussion board post or an ungraded quiz–on a specific topic both to highlight the new skills they are learning and also build upon skills from Latin 1. Students’ newfound knowledge is tested regularly with a weekly quiz, periodic assessments and two major exams.
